Introduced to the Portland area in the late 1800's this variety is widely regarded as "simply the best." Spanish Roja wraps spicy and sweet in one package. Recognized by Slow Food USA Ark of Taste variety worthy of preservation. In around 50 taste tests conducted by the American garlic connoisseur Chester Aaron (2002) this variety consistently ranked in the top two or three.

Storage: 5-6 months
Small - less than 1.5” (diameter)
Medium - 1.50” to 1.75”
Large - 1.75” to 2.00”
Extra Large - 2.0+ to 2.25”
Jumbo - 2.25”+
